Pikes Peak State Park is located high up on the bluff above the Mississippi River on the Iowa side. We camped here while we stayed in the area. According to the guy doing the boat tour we were on which I previously posted pictures the site was named by the same person for which Pikes Peak in Colorado is named. The naming of this Pikes Peak predated the Colorado peak.
